Whether by car, plane, train, coach, public transportation or taxi, the Leipzig Trade Fair Centre is easily and conveniently accessible by all means of transport. Here you will find all the important information about your various travel options.
Centrally located – right next to motorway A14.
Our exhibition grounds can be reached directly from the motorway by following the signs.
- A 14 – Leipzig Messegelände exit
- A9 Schkeuditzer Kreuz – ten minutes by car
- A38 Kreuz Parthenaue – ten minutes by car
It also only takes ten minutes on B2 from the exhibition grounds to Leipzig city centre.

Fast and Easy Services From Leipzig City Centre to the Leipzig Trade Fair Centre
Tram 16 takes you directly from the Leipzig Central Station to the exhibition grounds in around 18 minutes. You can also take Tram 16 directly from Augustusplatz and it will take around 23 minutes. Take the tram in the direction of "Messegelände" (final stop).
This will take you to the West Entrance of the fair at the front of the Glass Hall and to the entrance of the Congress Center Leipzig. Enjoy the walk along the Mercury Fountain located between the final tram stop and the West Entrance.
By Regional Train (DB) or Suburban Train (MDV S-Bahn)
The S2, S5, S5X or S6 trains of the MDV S-Bahn take you directly to "Leipzig Messe" station (for example if you are coming from Halle, Altenburg, Zwickau, Geithain, Dessau, Lutherstadt Wittenberg and Leipzig-Wittenberg, Bitterfeld). From Leipzig/Halle airport you can get to the exhibition centre in a few minutes using either S5 and S5X. Visitors coming from all other directions can transfer to the S2, S5, S5X or S6 trains to the exhibition centre at either the Leipzig Central Station or the City Tunnel stations.
Travel time from the Leipzig Central Station: 6 minutes, from the Marktplatz Station: 8 minutes, from the Halle Central Station: 17 minutes.
From the "Messebahnhof" station to the West Entrance or the Congress Center Leipzig will take about 10 minutes on foot (750m) or you can jump on Tram 16 to the Messegelände final stop (one station further).
If you arriving via the Leipzig/Halle Airport, you can reach the exhibition grounds in about eight minutes by taking the S-Bahn lines S5 and S5X, which run every half hour.
Information on public transportation connections to the Leipzig Trade Fair is available from the Deutschen Bahn timetable information service as well as from the Mitteldeutscher Verkehrsverbund and Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe .
You can use any of the transport services (train, tram, bus) within this local transport area and change lines as you wish.
Trade Fair Tickets Are Valid Public Transportation Tickets
Sustainable travel with the Leipzig Trade Fair! Trade fair tickets, including online tickets and exhibitor passes, entitle you to free travel to and from the exhibition grounds on the day of your visit using public transportation operated by the MDV (Mitteldeutscher Verkehrsverbund), provided this is expressly stated on the respective ticket.
Attention: Before starting your journey, the day must be marked on the weekday bar of the ticket. For online tickets, the ticket date must be entered and it must be signed.
Mitteldeutscher Verkehrsverbund (MDV) Tariff Zones
Free travel to and from the exhibition grounds on the day of the event by public transport operated by MDV (Mitteldeutscher Verkehrsverbund) is valid for the following regions and tariff zones: 110, 151, 156, 162, 163, 168, 210 and 225.
With Deutsche Bahn trains, you can travel to the fair city of Leipzig in an environmentally friendly and stress-free way. The Leipzig Central Station is located in the city centre and has an ICE train connection. It offers direct connections to public transportation, which will take you to the Leipzig Trade Fair Centre in just a few minutes. You can reach the Leipzig Trade Fair Centre with:

Services for train passengers are available at the DB Reisezentrum West on the ground floor and the DB Service-Point on the top floor.
The Leipzig Central Station is one of the most modern and largest railway stations in Europe. More than 140 shops and restaurants on three levels of the PROMENADEN im Hauptbahnhof invite you to stroll and enjoy. From Monday to Saturday they are open until 9 pm. Many shops are also open on Sundays.
A cycle path leads directly from Leipzig city centre to the exhibition grounds. There are bicycle parking spaces at all visitor entrances and at the service entrance to the Congress Center Leipzig.
In front of the administration building there is also a charging station for e-bike batteries with lockable compartments for the batteries to be charged and cycling accessories. The compartments include a 230-volt socket for connecting the charger.
Long-Distance Coach Travel
Use the convenient coach connections and travel comfortably from all over Germany to the trade fair city. The coach stop is located directly at the trade fair centre.

Arriving by Plane
Leipzig/Halle Airport is located in the heart of Central Germany and is easily accessible from the Leipzig Trade Fair. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes via the motorway and eight minutes on the S5 which runs every half hour.
You will find taxis directly at the airport (Terminal B) or at the west entrance of the Leipzig Trade Fair (between the Glass Hall and the Mercury Fountain).

Directions for Private Coaches
Follow the dynamic parking guidance system to the parking spaces for coaches. There are plenty of designated spaces for coaches in the P2 parking space. You can buy a ticket when you get there.
Coach drivers are entitled to free admission to the fair with proof of credentials.
