01/07/2024 Registration for the 2025 Leipzig Book Fair Is Now Open At the 2024 Leipzig Book Fair, 283,000 bookworms took part in 2,800 splendid events at over 300 venues. Together with Europe's largest reading festival, "Leipzig liest" (Leipzig reads), and Manga-Comic-Con, the fair enjoyed a fantastic response from visitors and exhibitors alike. With a view to generating the same enthusiasm in 2025, registration for exhibitors has now opened. It is advisable to book as soon as possible. A discount of 10 per cent on the standard price for space rental is available until 31 August. Continue reading
20/11/2023 Astrid Böhmisch to Be Leipzig Book Fair's New Director Astrid Böhmisch will be taking over responsibility for the Leipzig Book Fair on 1 January 2024. She will be taking over as Director from Oliver Zille, who is stepping down at the end of the year. Leipzig Book Fair also includes Manga-Comic-Con and "Leipzig liest", Europe's largest reading festival. Continue reading
04/05/2023 We missed it so much! It was a magnificent festival. There was happiness in the air wherever you went at the trade fair and at events across the city. The Leipzig Book Fair is back, along with Manga-Comic-Con and the reading festival Leipzig liest (Leipzig reads). It was wonderful to finally open the doors of the exhibition centre once again to welcome book lovers as well as writers to the award ceremonies, stand openings and other events in Leipzig. 2082 exhibitors and publishers from 40 countries joined together with over 3200 participants from all over the world to make this event happen over the last few days and contribute to new formats at the Leipzig Book Fair such as the #buchbar, the Open Society Forum and the JugendCampus (youth campus) UVERSE. 09/08/2022 Registration for the Leipzig Book Fair Now Open Starting today, you can register for the Leipzig Book Fair together with Manga Comic-Con and the "Leipzig liest" reading festival. After being forced to take a break due to COVID-19, this spring event for the book and media industries is returning with a new concept in the exhibition halls, fresh programme items and adjusted registration deadlines. 16/05/2022 Leipzig Book Fair Pushed Back to April in 2023 The combination of the Leipzig Book Fair, Manga Comic-Con, Leipzig liest reading festival and the Leipzig Antiquarian Book Fair will take place from 27 to 30 April 2023. "In 2023, the Leipzig Book Fair will take place later than usual in both the exhibition halls and across the entire city of Leipzig", says Martin Buhl-Wagner, Managing Director of Leipziger Messe. "We will finally be able to celebrate the reading of books again with all our partners. The new dates in April offer the safest framework for us to continue our work on developing exciting concepts for this group of events."
